More About Allyson Harris

Childhood and adolescence can be exciting and can also bring challenges that leave young people feeling overwhelmed, anxious, uncertain, or stuck. Whether you’re seeking support for your child or you’re a young adult navigating life’s transitions, you don’t have to face these experiences alone. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, build meaningful connections, strengthen self-confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive. I specialize in working with children (ages 6–17), adolescents, emerging adults (ages 18–22), and their families who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD and neurodivergence, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and other concerns that impact daily life.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), I am dedicated to helping young people feel understood, supported, and empowered as they grow through life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I believe every child, teen, and young adult deserves a space where they feel safe enough to express themselves openly, explore difficult thoughts and feelings, and discover their own resilience. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique strengths, needs, and goals by integrating evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and play-based interventions. I earned both my bachelor’s degree in psychology and my master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Vermont.

During my graduate training, I gained clinical experience in community mental health and educational settings where I supported children and adolescents in navigating neurodiversity, identity, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional and behavioral challenges, school avoidance, and major life transitions. These experiences strengthened my passion for helping young people build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being while navigating both life’s challenges and its most meaningful moments.

I offer both in-person therapy at our Westminster office and telehealth sessions throughout Colorado, with flexible scheduling to meet the needs of busy individuals and families. Reaching out for support is often the hardest first step, and you don’t have to take it alone. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your child, I would be honored to walk alongside you, providing care, compassion, and encouragement as you move toward healing, growth, and lasting well-being.
