More About Chris Sandbach

Hi, I’m Chris Sandbach, a licensed professional counselor (LPCC) serving clients in Longmont, Colorado, and across the state via telehealth. I didn’t follow the traditional therapist path. After years in corporate and consulting roles — navigating high-pressure environments, major organizational changes, and the real stress of performance and transitions — I made my own career shift back to mental health after 14+ years away. As a former high-level college athlete, I understand the intense drive, pressure, and mental demands of performance-based lives and careers. That unique background is now one of my greatest assets. I combine my educational background, solid clinical training, and real-world consulting experience into a practical, grounded approach.

I work with adults (18+) in the Longmont area and throughout Colorado who are ready to do the real work and create meaningful change in their lives — especially young professionals, seasoned professionals, college students, performance-driven individuals, athletes, and artists.

This includes individuals seeking help with anxiety, depression, burnout, work/life balance struggles, life transitions, career changes, trauma and its ongoing effects, perfectionism, communication and relationship challenges, men’s issues, pornography addiction, substance use, mental performance, motivation, and personal growth.

My approach is straightforward and active. In our sessions, we work together as partners — blending insight with practical strategies drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Based Brief Therapy (SBBF), and tools that support both well-being and real-world performance. I collaborate with you directly instead of sitting back and asking, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll offer honest feedback when it’s helpful, while always meeting you where you are. We honor your background, challenges, and goals while staying focused on clear, actionable progress and meaningful momentum.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a Colorado native who has lived in the Longmont area for over 40 years. I’ve been married to my wife for 20+ years, and we have two children together. I love being an avid golfer and hiker, and I enjoy working in the yard and garden. I bring that same grounded, practical energy into every session.

Taking the first step toward seeking support can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to listen, support, and work with you as a true partner on your journey toward real change and growth. I offer in-person therapy in Longmont or secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions. If you’re ready, reach out today so we can get started together.
