Hi, I’m Matias (Mat) Amaro, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and proud Mexican-American therapist passionate about helping people feel seen, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. I work with adults, teens ages 13+, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as other marginalized populations who may be carrying the weight of systems, experiences, or identities that can make life feel especially overwhelming at times. I’m especially passionate about supporting adults living in rural or remote areas where quality in-person therapy may not be readily accessible. Teletherapy can be a powerful way to connect with meaningful support wherever you are.
I specialize in helping people work through anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, identity exploration, life transitions, and the stress that can come with trying to hold everything together. I provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, along with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, gender-affirming care, and traditional talk therapy to help clients build practical tools for lasting change. My goal is to help you better understand what’s keeping you stuck, strengthen your coping skills, and create real movement toward the life you want to live.
I believe healing happens through compassion, collaboration, and showing up as your full, authentic self. I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, affirmed, and free from judgment while we do the meaningful work of growth together. I look forward to connecting with you soon and supporting you on your journey toward growth and healing.
