Maybe you’ve experienced a loss or a life transition that turned your world upside down. Maybe you’re carrying something heavy, and you’re not sure where to put it. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to go through it alone.
Hi, my name is Rachel, and I’m a supervised intern currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with adolescents and adults navigating grief, chronic illnesses, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, women’s concerns, and life transitions. I also have a special interest in sibling loss, an area of grief that’s often overlooked.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, grounded in curiosity, and humorous when appropriate. I use a Gestalt therapy framework to bring present awareness to your body during the session, as I believe the body sometimes holds answers the mind hasn’t caught up to yet. I also use a psychodynamic approach to explore how past experiences have shaped you. In session, this may look like exploring life patterns, revisiting childhood memories, or even analyzing dreams.
Every client is unique, and I believe that you are the expert of your own story. In some sessions, you may feel ready to get something off your chest. In other sessions, you might prefer to go nonverbal and let expressive art therapy techniques do the talking. You set the pace, and together we’ll find what feels right for you.
When I’m not in session, you can probably find me skiing, painting something I may or may not finish, or cuddling with my two cats.
