Robert Flowers received his Master’s in Social Work through Aurora University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Robert comes to Colorado from the State of IL where he worked as a LCSW, Certified Addictions Counselor, and Co-occurring disorder professional.

Robert has received training in Exposure and Response Prevention for treatment of OCD, is trained in Gottman Levels I and II couples counseling through the Gottman Institute, and recently completed his training as a Ketamine-Integration therapist. Robert is EMDR trained and holds a training endorsement from Noeticus Training Institute. He is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).

Robert’s areas of specialty include treating substance use disorders and substance misuse, co-occurring disorders, mental health management, and relationship/marital concerns. Robert also specializes in the use of mindfulness-based practices to assist people in management of anger, anxiety, stress, depression, and life transitions. Prior to joining Ignite, Robert spent 10 years working in treatment programs encompassing a wide-spectrum of addiction care (Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, Residential Care, medical detoxification, and Medication-Assisted treatment programming).

Robert’s personal mantra is “Esto Quod Esse Videris” (Latin) which translates to “Become what you seem to be" and wants to assist in supporting individuals looking to become a more content version of themselves. Robert believes in the power of autonomy, self-determination, and the importance of having non-judgmental support in fostering a therapeutic rapport and alliance to nurture growth in the therapy setting. His work incorporates the use of  Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-based and Solution-Focused strategies.

In his spare time, Robert can be found outside hiking, taking trips and getaways with his wife, appreciating music in various forms, playing board games, continuing his education/professional development, and spending time with his dog.
